Chaz, a great article again,we could take the advice of our fellow Texans, and make a difference. it shows it can be done if desired enough by everyone. However it always comes down to Money needed to inforce it.We had the right idea in the begining with Litter, why did we stop short.

Thanks for the encouraging words. Anything that is worthwhile is worth working, and waiting for.
To Irate Citizen, I have always felt that it would be a wonderful idea to follow the ‘Drive By Litterer’ (I love the name) to their nests and dump their trash back on them but then, we are nice folks so we wouldn’t think of committing such a heinous but enjoyable crime. Would we?
And, Yes Dirk C. That is me. The lion was something else.

Chaz,
I live on a very busy street. Darned near every morning I go for my walk and there is trash thrown in my yard. I am going to coin a phrase for this contemptable act, I am calling it, ‘Drive by trashing!’ What can be done about it? I don’t have a clue. Please keep up the fight.

Dear Anonymous,
You are absolutely right when you advocate education as the ultimate solution. Parental example plus classroom instruction of good citizenship is definitely a long term solution.
After all is said and done, todays children are tomorrows litterers, or not.

The second anonymous comment ended by asking the question, “Can I judge????” My answer is an unequivocal, YES!, BY ALL MEANS YES!!! There is not an excuse for littering. If there is trash in your car that needs to be disposed of, get rid of it at the next gas station or at home, don’t, please don’t throw it on the roadside.

One man’s trash is another mans treasure…littering is a nasty habit, but the recycling industry has made a gold mine out of it..go figure!!can I judge????

Chaz, I am totally in agreement with your pride and willingness for every citizen to display good discipline and and concern for our home and our vicinity. A cash levy may be one solution, as a deterrent,but I am a firm believer in proper teaching & setting examples. Our budget as announced recently, has cut back on the valuable resources which can always instill that pride and concerns.I suggest a firm and conscious effort to educate, via classrooms.
